Some of the older computers on campus are capable of running Windows 7 and are eligible for an upgrade. Computers will not be upgraded unless the individual to whom the computer is assigned makes a request to do so.
All red and yellow dot PC desktop and laptops are eligible for an upgrade to Windows 7. Green dot PC desktops and laptops are being replaced this year with new computers running Windows 7. Blue dot PC desktops and laptops that will be replaced in 2012-2013 will receive new computers running Windows 7. If you have a computer that is not on a cycle, you may determine if it will be capable of running Windows 7 by contacting the Help Desk with the model number on the computer.
Upgrades should be scheduled by contacting the Help Desk. Upgrades will be performed on a first come, first served basis and a limited number of upgrades will be scheduled each week. The upgrade process will require Client Services to have the computer for 2 to 3 days; a temporary computer will be provided. We will begin accepting appointments for upgrades starting Oct 3, 2011.
